The good news is that our long time member (since January 1981) is out of the hospital and resting at home. Steve suffered a heart attack last week and has had a triple bypass. The operation was performed at Stony Brook University Hospital ("They're the best" - quote from Steve) and he credits the success of the operation to the treatment and care he received at the hospital. His recovery has been speeded up due to the factor of his being in relatively good shape. Steve sounded strong on the phone but indicated that he finds that he often runs out of steam and has to take it easy (Bartlett and Ashton roads will have to wait a while!). Give Steve a call when you have a chance but remember that he gets tired easily.
I'm sure that I speak for all Steve's friends in wishing him a speedy and total recovery,
Norm
