The printed edition of today's Newsday had a different headline then the online article:
The printed edition ran with the following headline: Drivers hit bikes, pay little" . I know that the word "bikers" is only one letter different but it makes a world of difference to those of us who have landed on the ground. Sure, we joke about looking after our bike immediately after we regain our wits, but if you've been in a bike-car accident you know that what's important becomes crystal clear all too quickly.
It would be great to see a club with 800+ members make some noise ... please watch for and participate in a Ride of Silence (sometime in May) and be assured that a letter is going to the editor regarding the sensitivity of the article headline.
