First, I want to thank Pat for the most beautiful ride. You know you are riding with Pat, when you are well taken care of as a rider, in his unique gentlemanly, chivalrous way, and when you do not fear for one second that you will get lost... he knows these roads like the back of his hand (or in my native tongue... like his own pocket!:)
Also, many thanks to our other two gentlemen- Phil and John, who helped make sure that no one is left behind, to all the volunteers at the food/water/rest stops who gave us fuel to keep us going, to Barbs, and other radio personnel, to all who made this happen...
We could not have asked for better weather. If it seemed a little cool at the Light House, boy did it warm up on Harbor Hill Road: All I could think of was: LEGS PLEASE DON'T FAIL ME NOW.
Then that heart warming story at the end... of the veteran and her seizure dog. One feels a better person at the end of the day like this.
